Ever wonder what products are essential to your daily make-up routine? Or even what product are a must have in your bag? These 6 products are ones that I use all the time (and don’t cost much either which is a plus).
- Freedom Pro Correct Palette
This is a colour correction palette – in simpler terms: makes your eye bags and red spots disappear in just a minute. It is an absolute lifesaver! As you can probably see, I really use the orange and green colours. The green is used to cover red spots while the orange works great measures to brighten the bags under your eyes (and considering I am always tired like many students out there, it is needed more often than not). The cream goes on smoothly and doesn’t make your makeup look cakey. I apply it after moisturising my face and blend it in with a beauty blender (another must have if you haven’t got one already) and then I proceed with the foundation.
2. Maybelline Instant Anti-Age Concealer
I have been using this concealer for ages; probably a few years by now and it’s great for coverage. I use it under my eyes mainly to brighten them up and to highlight other features of my face. The concealer blends in effortlessly and stays on all day.
3. Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer Mascara
This is a bit pricier than the others but I’ve been buying it constantly ever since I tried out a tester. This mascara is a primer so it goes on before putting on the main mascara. Supposedly it makes your eyelashes appear longer and thicker and I think it helps – probably works as well as other mascaras but the primer separates the eyelashes so that they don’t appear clunky. I buy it as a pair with the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara. Another plus is that you can use the primer by itself and it’s brown rather than black so it works for a more natural look.
4. L’Oréal Brow Artist Plumper
Eyebrows are something you can’t skip out on. They’ve become so important over the years for no reason and basically finish your look. Even when I’m not going anywhere I feel like I have to do my eyebrows because they look so bad naturally (which is crazy haha). Anyway the plumper gives them more definition – it makes your eyebrows look thicker which is the main trend. I usually put it on last after I’ve finished filling in my eyebrows but you can use it without anything if you just want a quick fix.
5. Becca Champagne Pop Highlighter
Ahhhh! One of my faves. I bought this when I visited Sephora in New York (still unreal and still insane that we haven’t got our own Sephora here in London). I would never usually buy a highlighter this expensive but at the moment in time I genuinly couldn’t help myself…no self control when it comes to buying makeup unfortunately. This highlighter, however, is so good and I’ll probably buy it again when my next student loan drops in. The highlight really stands out and stays on all day. Even can be used as eyeshadow (trying to justify buying it basically).
Price: $38 = £30.43
6. M.A.C Velvet Teddy Matte Lipstick
Finally, my number 1. This lipstick is by my side everyday. It is a gorgeous colour suited for any skin colour, feels great/soft on my lips and stays on without drying my lips out like many matte lipsticks out there. It is a nude colour so it doesn’t matter whether you’re going for a natural look or going out for the evening – works with anything. ALSO, it smells amazing. This product should be in everyone’s bag!
